Safaris on river jet boats offer opportunities to see wildlife, beautiful natural scenery and to fish. Sleeping in a tent out in the open is a bonus to spending a few days on a river jet boat. River jet boats offer city folk a chance to experience nature in a whole new way. You get to see places that cannot be covered by any other means of transport. River jet boats are also used for races and can be exciting for spectators. Some places have stopped mechanized craft from operating, but those with earlier licenses continue to offer packages.
River jet boats range from the rudimentary and functional to the luxurious with closed seating, temperature control and viewing platforms. You can choose between a rough ride that takes you close to nature, and a more comfortable cruise along the river banks. River jet boats are safe as long as they are owned and operated by licensed experts. New hydro jet technology now allows you to travel upstream during low water periods. River jet boats can also be built and designed for rescue operations.
Operators and owners should be capable of diagnosing routine faults so that down time and visits to the service center are kept to the minimum. River jet boats have three parts-the jet unit, engine and hull. Poor acceleration, inability to carry planned load and excessive fuel consumption, are some of the problems commonly encountered. Poor top speed and unusual noise from a mechanical part are other issues. The tachometer is the most important aid on the craft to help you find out what may be wrong. The revolutions per minute or RPM should remain the same, regardless of the age of the boat and the load she carries at any given point of time. Wear in the pump or motor may be suspected if the RPM falls. Speedometers tend to be inaccurate and a GPS unit should be used to calibrate speed. A meter to measure flow should be used to measure fuel consumption with accuracy. River jet boats will consume less fuel and go faster in shallow water as compared to deep water. River jet boat
