A pilot reportedly found to be asleep during a charter flight from the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. has resigned.

About 15 minutes into the Walkers Aviation flight, a passenger allegedly noticed that the pilot was asleep. One passenger even recorded the incident on his video camera, showing what appears to be the pilot sound asleep with his headphones off and his head back on the seat.

The pilot was allegedly asleep for about 45 minutes of the hour-and-a-quarter flight, during which time the copilot allegedly made no effort to wake him up.

The unidentified pilot - who is said to have been with the company for about a year - denied he was sleeping during the flight but has decided to resign from his position.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
