Malev Chartered Flight Forced to Return to Budapest Author: Originated from Airline Industry Information
A charter flight operated by the Hungarian carrier Malev was forced to return to Budapest's Ferihegy Airport on Thursday (31 May) due to a malfunction in the aircraft's landing system.
The Boeing 737-400 aircraft, which was en route to Crete and was carrying 157 passengers, returned shortly after takeoff and had not yet left Hungarian airspace. Passengers were flown to Heraklion, Crete on another Malev aircraft according to The Associated Press.
A spokesperson for the airline said that the aircraft, which was leased, is only a few years old. Related Articles
