Engine Problem Forces Air Charter Flight to Turn Back

Author: Originated from Airline Industry Information

A flight operated by charter carrier Bulgarian Air Charter was forced to turn back on Friday (27 September) because of an engine problem.

The Tu-154 aircraft, carrying 157 passengers and crew members, returned to Bulgaria's Burgas airport shortly after takeoff after the pilot noticed a malfunction in one of the jet's three engines.

The engine was shut down and the aircraft circled for about two hours to use up fuel, before landing safely. The passengers flew to their destination of Leipzig, Germany on another aircraft.
