Private Charter Carrier to Bid for Failing Charter Unit Author: Originated from Airline Industry Information
A French charter airline, Aeris, stated on Monday (25 June) that it is interested in acquiring the charter business of the troubled carriers AOM and Air Liberte.
The charter activity of the AOM/Air Liberte group represents about 25% of the carriers' operations. The airline group, which is owned by Swissair Group and Marine-Wendel, filed for bankruptcy in early June and the carriers have been given three months to find potential buyers. Aeris has stated that it will file an acquisition proposal through the court by Friday (29 June), according to The Associated Press.
Other potential buyers include easyJet, a UK-based low-cost airline that has already expressed an interest in the French carriers. Related Articles
