WARM YOUR SOUL & FLY LUXURY WITH DELTA AIRELITE PRIVATE JET Author: CAWilson
Forget about those snowy, chilly days of February in New York City. No, spring isn’t here yet, but the new luxury private charters being offered will surely warm up any native New Yorker’s soul until the thaw arrives, and the flowers start to bloom.
The story began as two major travel companies, Delta Air Lines and Orient Express Hotels, launched high status initiatives built around the appeal of upscale travel within a couple of days of one-another.
Delta AirElite--the airline's private jet charter division--is offering a fleet membership program for business travelers whereby corporations can buy 25-, 50- or 100-hour blocks of flight time and not be required to participate in any kind of fractional ownership program.
Cincinnati-based Delta AirElite has suggested 25 hours on a light jet--a Lear that seats six to eight passengers—would cost approximately $99,500, while 50 and 100-hour memberships would run $193,500 and $383,500, respectively. A fleet of business jets has been dedicated solely for this purpose, to fulfill the needs of travelers who sign up for the membership program.
Cameron Gowans, Delta AirElite's director of sales and marketing, said, “Clients only pay for flown hours and don't pay for empty legs or other methods to position jets.”
Unfortunately for travel agencies, a commission will not be earned for any clients they sign up for the membership charter jet program.
Business travelers aside, Orient Express Hotels has launched a private jet charter program that enables its leisure customers to choose a scheduled itinerary to Europe or South America, or to even create their own trip anywhere they like, as long as a stay at an Orient-Express hotel is part of the itinerary.
Fueling Orient Express Hotels’ concept and marketing strategy are the continuing reductions in requested first-class air service and a new growing demand for multi-destination itineraries.
The new charter fleet includes Airbus 319 corporate jets, Boeing Business jets, including Boeing 727-200s, 737-300s and 757s, and Embraer Legacys.
Air fare, hotel accommodations, ground transfers and guided tours are included in the scheduled one-week itineraries.
For example, the seven night itinerary titled “A Romance of Europe” uses Paris as the focal point from which visitors take the Venice Simplon Orient-Express train to Venice, Italy, where they will enjoy three nights at the spectacular Hotel Cipriani.
Next, an M-seat Canadair jet charter quickly flies the travelers from Venice where they lunch at the Hotel Splendido in Portofino before flying to Carcassonne in southern France to spend an additional three nights at beautiful Hotel de la Citey. Lastly, the city of Bilbao, Spain, home to the Guggenheim, is explored before returning to Paris.
All of this luxury and fun can be had for a mere $16,000 per person.
Thanks to Delta AirElite and Orient Express Hotels for their visionary approach to warming our souls and making our dreams come true through flying private jets in luxury and at an affordable price. Related Articles
